We all have lasting visuals from our childhood, and poppies with paper petals and caterpillar stems, are the first of mine. I’ve always been grateful for the home my parents made, teaching me the love of nature and awareness of the beauty of flowers. Every step of the way from the first zinnia patch my mom helped me plant, to the pastel petunias that perfumed our summers on my grandma’s front porch, flowers made a lasting impression on me.
It was easy to choose Art and Horticulture as formal study at South Dakota State University, followed by many years of work in retail floral design and owning a storefront for ten years.
Now, a dream to continue my work freelancing in floral design on the beautiful prairie of South Dakota has come true.
